The deadliest March was in 1970 with 99 fatalities.
This total is 13 fewer deaths than on the same date in 2004 and four fewer than the five-year average for the end of March.

Pearson was born March 26, 1911 in Harris County, daughter of the late George Otis and Mahaley Mary Thompson Stripling.
Lorilda Ashley Gordon, 79, of Griffin, Ga., died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 at Brightmoore Nursing Center in Griffin, Ga. A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., she was born June 6, 1925, daughter of the late Alton Dye and Florence Alice Cathcart Ashley.
The funeral is in the McKoon chapel Thursday, March 3, at 2 p.m.
