| | Debt Relief - Inter-American Development Bank |
 | | In June 1999, at the G-7 Summit in Cologne, Germany, the HIPC Initiative was expanded to provide broader, deeper and faster relief to eligible countries, enhancing their prospect of a permanent exit from unsustainable debt and strengthening the links between debt relief and poverty alleviation. |
 | | The amount of debt relief, present value, to be received by the four eligible countries under the Enhanced HIPC Initiative is Bolivia, $307 million; Guyana, $65 million; Honduras, $133 million; and Nicaragua, $391 million. |
 | | The Bank is financing the cost of this debt relief by drawing on internal resources, which are being supplemented by contributions from its member countries, including its borrowing and non-borrowing member countries. |
