Decennial Census |
 | | According to the U.S. Constitution, Article I, Section 2, congressional redistricting is a result of the decennial census and the one person to one vote policy. |
 | | Even though the enumeration of the population was the first of the censuses taken, housing (dwellings) reports were added to the census, then in 1940 the census of housing was permanently added and has been taken every 10 years along with the census of population. |
 | | In addition to the decennial census, there are also censuses taken every five years (quinquennial) that include wholesale and retail trade, agriculture, governments, economics, service industries, construction industries, manufactures industries, mineral industries, and transportation. |
