Deep Purple - Live on the BBC - Audio Fidelity -SACD
It is therefore fitting that all subsequent live albums from Deep Purple be judged by the yardstick of MiJ and to a lesser extent, their Made in Europe followup.
Audio Fidelity's release of Deep Purple Live on the BBC in the popular format of SACD is from the Mark II lineup and therefore represents many of the songs that issued from the band's magnificent Machine Head album.
The album's closer live track, "Lucille", is not available to the CD layer due to space limitations and will therefore transition from "Smoke on the Water" to the two real gems on this SACD, "Hush", and the memorable "River Deep Mountain High", two pre-Machine Head tracks and from the Mark I lineup.

 Deep Forest at Culture Planet
It was and still is one of the most groundbreaking world music albums of all time and it's a huge crime that it isn't carried by retailers.
Any absence of studio sophistication in Deep Forest's live sound is compensated for by the music's celebratory mood and the concert's interactive, transcultural, communal environment.
For fans of the group this album may be a huge disappointment and it may be worth seeking out one of the 2 import versions that exists.

While this wasn't Purple's debut album (it was their third or fourth studio album, I believe), In Rock is a blistering change to Rock/metal music by this band (Before this they played more poppish rock).
A Purple greatest hits album that covered from the In Rock album up to the point that Purple was when they finally broke up in the 70's.
A live album that came out after Blue Light, but at the time of it's release I thought it was recorded during the Perfect Strangers tour due to a lack of songs from the Blue Light album.

 Deep Purple reviews
This is the second Deep Purple album with the Mark I lineup of Rod Evans on vocals and Nicky Simper on on bass.
In this album he mixes the right amount of technical ability and "feel" to to match the rock sound on the rest of the album.
The problem for fans of heavy metal, a genre that Deep Purple have pioneered, is that this album moves more toward the classic rock 'n' roll sound and that may be disappointing to a few.

Mobb Deep - Music Downloads - Online
On The Infamous, Mobb Deep (comprised of Prodigy and Havoc) set the tone for future generations of hardcore New York rappers, from G-Unit to Dipset.
However, by the late '90s, Mobb Deep was no longer setting trends; in fact, they seemed to be following them, and they lost some of their stature as subsequent generations of hardcore rappers arose.
Mobb Deep now had significant competition, and since Murda Muzik offered few innovations and lacked the spark of the duo's past two albums, it was met with some disappointment.

Deep Forest: Deep in the Jungle FAQ
Deep Forest - 1992 - This debut album was released in Australia, Japan, Canada and throughout Europe.
Zemp was told that Deep Forest wished to sample several UNESCO recordings for a project in honor of Earth Day; UNESCO was willing to grant license for the samples as long as Zemp and the other recordists agreed, and if the source musicians and recordings were properly credited.
For their part, Deep Forest has successfully used the music press to present themselves as guardians of respect; when pressed on questions of sampling ethics they have made themselves out as would-be victims of academic purists (for example, Goldman 1995; Prior 1996).

Included on this album is the Dido remix, along with their remixes of songs by artists such as Fatboy Slim, Envy, Dino Lenny, and Manaca.
Deep Dish, which also owns its own record label, illustrates with this compilation its need to focus more on the corporate side of music.
Deep Dish probably spent too much time trying to organize the tracks for such tight segues, and it was a great misuse of their time, because everything else about the album is haphazard and dull.

PIXELSURGEON | Reviews | Music | Deep Purple
While Black Sabbath's early albums explored the darker edges of rock as a precursor to the occult-inspired Metal bands of the 80s and 90s and Led Zeppelin betrayed traces hippiedom in Robert Plant's lyrics, Deep Purple occupied the middle ground with a more accessible rock sound.
Album closer, No One Came is one of Deep Purple's finest tracks, the essence of what's great about early 70s Hard Rock distilled into six minutes and twenty five seconds of pumping sonic brilliance.
The beauty of this album, and Deep Purple in general, is that each band member is an extremely gifted musician and is given sufficient space to experiment and show off without becoming self-indulgent.

Deep Purple : Rapture Of The Deep - Review at Harvest Moon Music
Deep Purple need no introduction, having been an integral force in the formation of the hard rock scene of the '70s and oft cited as an influence of rock and metal bands ever since.
New to the ranks for this album is keyboardist Don Airey, who has had himself quite a storied career with the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, and Rainbow (among others).
Steve's lengthy solo is one of the best on the album, as it dips and soars before being chased by a solo from Airey, only to return a verse later for another go.

Deep Purple's self-titled third album sets itself apart from the previous two in the fact that "Shades of Deep Purple" and "The Book of Taliesyn" had been given attention on the strength of the hit remakes of songs `Hush' and `Kentucky Woman' (respectively), while this album did not yield a hit single.
The last album featuring singer Rod Evans and bassist Nick Simper and the first album Jon Lord used keyboards, this album has a lots of highlights such as "Chasing Shadows", "Blind" and "The Bird Has Flown", both Evans and Simper was kicked before this album saw it's release.
Deep Purple's third album (June '69), and the last to feature their MKI lineup, is not quite as magical as the first two MKI albums of 1968, but, is still very solid indeed.

While vastly different from the first album First Love, Deep River is not too far away from the atmosphere of the second album Distance.
Deep River reflects Hikki's maturity both as a woman and as an artist.

Peter Murphy : Deep - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Perhaps the stars were right, or perhaps his American company, flush from the unexpected success of Murphy's former bandmates in Love and Rockets, just decided to give Murphy a well-deserved publicity push.
Whatever it was, with Deep Murphy scored an honest to goodness American radio/MTV hit thanks to the tender, lively "Cuts You Up," a love song with solid energy and an inspired vocal.
Quite why nothing else on the album connected with the public as strongly as "Cuts You Up" is a mystery; its follow-up single, "A Strange Kind of Love," was a striking love song, with acoustic guitar and plaintive Statham keyboards supporting one of Murphy's strongest lyrics and performances.

Their third album, Hell on Earth was released in 1996, debuting at number six on the Billboard album chart.
The album continued their portrayal of a harsh street life, while further pushing them to the forefront of the hardcore rap scene, along with contemporary East Coast rappers such as Notorious B.I.G., the Wu-Tang Clan collective, Jay-Z, and fellow Queensbridge associate, Nas.
The album marked a major stylistic change that saw the duo move away from the raw, minimalist, stripped-down beats of their hardcore roots, towards a more commercial fare with such songs as "Hey Luv".

The Album is Already Being Heralded by the Vast Majority of the UK Music Media as the Urban Album of 2005.
The 'Roll Deep' Crew, is a UK based 'East - London' collective (Totalling some 13 members), the comprises of MC's/Rappers, Producers and Beat Arrangers, that could at one time count 'Dizziee Rascal' as part of their line-up (He has since left).
Now....Wiley was smart enough to realise that realising a 'Roll Deep' album that mirrored the cold, Ominous and Fractured sound that drove "Treddin' on Thin Ice", would equally end in failure (and with no doubt, growing concern from the record label).
