 Defenestration : Snail Of Satan
Defenestration formed in 1999 under the name of Chi, but legal reasons made them ditch that name.
The band finsihed writing material towards the end of the year and recorded their debut album in December 2000 and January 2001.
Defenestration's debut album was released in May 2001 and has sold steadily well since it's release.

 Hard'n'Heavy
Defenestration: A band so full of raw energy, pure emotion and sheer shining promise, it's hard to believe anything so alive could come out of a town like Kettering.
Formed in the summer of '99 in a local youth club, Defenestration set about penning the tunes and recording the demo tape that they hoped would be their escape route out of Northamptonshire.
This primitive affair secured the band their initial live outings with Raging Speedhorn and Tribute To Nothing, as well as (but little did they know it) their first leg up into the national consciousness.

Born in Norman, Oklahoma, a college town whose other '80s musical export is the astoundingly strange Flaming Lips, Defenestration had an approach to complement their odd name (it means "the throwing out of a person or thing through a window").
Lead singer Tyson Meade was weaned on B-movies, Janis Joplin and the Birthday Party; the rest of the band combined influences from T. Rex and Cheap Trick to the Byrds.
Upon the original band's official demise, Meade formed the Chainsaw Kittens.

This powerful canadian band originating from the montreal region has undergone various line-up changes throughout the years, however since their first recording in 93 theyve still managed to maintain the extreme technical approach in their music with great success.
Regardless, some still belive the band hasnt been the same since lead vocalist (known only as 'lord worm') left the band, along with his more gutteral style lyrics.
One of the things i like about cryptospy is how even though the band has obvious satanic overtones their alot less direct about it than alot of bands(especially after lordworm was replaced by DiSalvo), This has left the band open to a wider audience i believe.

Rex, Meade in the summer of 1980 bought a Gibson Marauder from his brother and formed the band that would become Defenestration with a group of local skaters.
In 1984, with a loan from his mom, Meade financed the 400-dollar recording cost of the intense, darkly psychedelic Defenestration, which caused enough of a stir on the coasts to lead to a deal with indie Relativity.
With the restructuring of Scratchie, the band in 1999 moved to the new Four Alarm imprint, and in fall 2000 issued The All American, a straight pop album.

Orange And Atlas :: Bio :: Independent Pop Rock Music - Dallas, Texas based band
Their first self-titled and released album is really just a continuation of the partnership – a natural progression of their musical lives - a coming together of the past but, more importantly, the first step in a new direction.
There are three bands in which Orange and Atlas have played in together: BBEF and the Fence Walkers in Oklahoma, and Red Footed Genius in Oregon.
Each of these groups obtained at an absolute minimum highly successful “local band” status, performing to large groups of dedicated fans and attracting the praise of many music writers and critics - two of which were even signed artists on independent record labels and had several extensive continental tours.

In the still predominantly male world of heavy metal music, female (fronted) bands seem to arrive periodically to a wave of hype only to be forgotten about as soon as they’re no longer posing for magazines.
Forget feminine stereotypes; this is every bit as heavy as the likes of Raging Speedhorn or Amen (who took the band’s former drummer in 2003) In fact, the four tracks present from the band’s two previous singles reveal that they’ve grown even heavier over the last year and a half.
When the band show restraint, less is really more — and songs like ‘Fawn’ are all the more impressive for it.

With the demise of their respective bands, Armen Koroghlian (Apadravya, ex-Unhinged) and Tim Shauver (ex-Defenestration), two long time friends and former band mates were reunited through a common goal: to create one of the few true death metal bands in an area saturated with hardcore, metalcore and nu-metal.
Shortly after recruiting Ben, the band welcomed Jack Locke (Apadravya), whose low-tuned, distorted bass provided the perfect low end to the music that was slowly starting to take form.
Soon, the band decided that a second guitarist would be able to add another entire degree of madness to the music and elisted former Unhinged guitarist Troy Brown, whose blindingly fast grinds complemented Ben's already chainsaw like guitars, and with that, the lineup was solidified.

Bio: Arguably the best American band who never made it when alternative music suddenly became a huge proposition in the early '90s, the Chainsaw Kittens predated and outlasted that time with its own marvelous, energetic blend of glam-damaged energy, theatrical extremity, and punk rock basics.
Fronted by Tyson Meade, former lead singer of Defenestration, the Oklahoma-based group came together in early 1989, shortly thereafter signing to the Mammoth label.
However, the band built up a steady reputation through touring and appearing with a variety of up-and-coming bands, most notably the Smashing Pumpkins.

When a band travels a fair bit of the country to come to the nationally renowned Adelphi I always give them a big Oi Up for continuing to help Hull become bigger and better known on the music scene.
Due to the pressures of working far faster than a signed band would be expected to, and in lower quality studios, the recording process must be incredibly difficult for your average Hull band.
Hull's something of a hotbed for cool indie-rock bands, and The Landau's - along with Still Life - are one of the freshest bands forging ahead within such a musical genre.

Although their heavier stuff suggests that these guys can grind out ferociously unrestrained screamo-core with the best of them, it's the odd number or two where they drop the pace and let the delicate riffs and the lead singer's superb yearning vocals lift everyone in the room clean off their feet.
Although tonight finds them in much more modest surroundings, their sound is progressing along nicely and even if their career hasn't taken off the way it was once tipped to, that's the world's loss and not theirs.
