The Pittsburgh Pirates were a professional ice hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL), based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1925-26 to 1929-30.
Odie Cleghorn, the Pirates' coach (and occasional player) for the first four seasons, was the first NHL coach to change his players on the fly.
The team was $400,000 in debt by the end of the 1929-30 season.

The NHL lockout is not only effecting people here in North America, but it is putting players in Europe out of a job.
The way he set it up, he controls the team names (which is best), and in a pretty classy move named them after the Original Six teams, then defunct NHL teams.
And besides, the other team that was available was the Kansas City Scouts, which is my favorite defunct NHL team.
