 Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements Project
The Deline AIP results from continuing negotiations between the Deline Dene Band and the Deline Land Corporation with the federal and territorial governments pursuant to the Self-Government Process and Schedule Agreement signed in October 1998.
The AIP continued to be negotiated over the subsequent five years and was signed by representatives of the Deline Dene Band, the Deline Land Corporation, the Government of Canada and the Government of the Northwest Territories in August 2003.
The Government of the Northwest Territories is required to consult with the DFNG regarding the creation of a new local government in the Deline District.

Lloyd's inspectors were sent to the company's MOX pilot plant in Sellafield, northwest England, in September following BNFL's admission that quality control data on batches of MOX fuel, bound for the [Japanese] Takahama nuclear plant's No. 3 reactor in Fukui Prefecture, had been falsified by three workers.
It was sent to Canada as part of an agreement by the federal government to conduct tests on burning the fuel at Chalk River to help the United States dispose of waste from dismantled nuclear weapons.

 Politicians promote Deline as hockey's birthplace
The N.W.T.'s legislature says Canada's national sport was born in the community of Deline … and it's daring anyone to prove them wrong.
On Thursday the legislative assembly passed a motion recognizing the community, 538 kilometres north of Yellowknife, as the rightful claimant to being the birthplace of hockey.
People in Deline say that, in 1825, the crew of Sir John Franklin's Arctic expedition exercised by playing hockey on the ice of Great Bear Lake near their community.
