When the decision to change the band name was reversed, the band recorded a demo simply called Promo '94 which proved the band still has what it takes to produce fantastic death metal, but it just was not to be.
The band has been going in one form or the other, but in its heyday the band tried to obtain a decent recording deal and was met with rejection after rejection.
The band does hint at the early Finnish death metal scene (Disgrace’s debut or Adramelech), but frankly is in a league of its own in 1992.

 Metal-Rules.com: Interview with Demigod
Well, one thing is for sure; the Demigod dudes haven´t been resting on their laurels, doing nothing, since the band´s 2nd full-length album SHADOW MECHANICS was released on Spikefarm Records more than two years ago.
Now you guys don´t have to rehearse the same way like you used to rehearse in the past, having the whole band being gathered to your rehearsal place as it seemed to be quite hard to organize for you guys every now and then in the first place.
For example such Finnish metal bands that were formed sometimes around the ´80s as National Napalm Syndicate, Sacred Crucifix and Necromancer have been dug out of their cold graves to bring some noise for metalheads again which I think it just great.

 Demigod - Melodic Death Metal
Demigod are about that: halfway to entirely godlike and very cool, but a band that faded away too quickly to live on in Adramlech.
Demigod vary their approach from flutterthrob melodic riffage to riffing based more on the percussive power of a chord and variants off its return, in the style of death metal open-string bashers or speed metal rockers.
Clearly well-played but not necessarily "technical" this band have an enlightened and selective eye for editing their own material, as these songs are in arrangement and composition tight and enduring of many listens.

Their logo is quite readable, but the band name should be reason enough to practice tongue contortions.
Demigod is an album that takes some time to get used to, but after a few rotations of the CD in your stereo, you will witness a very mature effort.
But from there on, Ninnghizhidda are drawing wide circles around their roots to include such styles as dark metal, gothic, thrash, etc. to come to a very own style, that although sounding vaguely symphonic at times, is far away from the more commercial likes of Therion.

WWW.SUPREME BRUTALITY.NET - IN SUPPORT OF DEATH METAL, GRINDCORE AND GOREGRIND
Demigod pretty much continues from where its predecessor Zoz Kia Cultus left of however Demigod seem even more advanced and complex than the aforementioned Zoz Kia Cultus and thereby lifting the music to an higher level of perfection.
Songs like the titletrack "Demigod", "The Nephilim Rising", "Xul" ["Xul" features a guest appearance by Nile main man Karl Sanders] and last but not least the majestic closer "The Reign ov Shemsu-Hor" are the ones that stand out but the remaining tracks are worthwhile and leaves very little or nothing to be desired.
Demigod is a refreshing breath in an otherwise often stale and idealess genre.

Demigod // Albums and Reviews // Lambgoat
In what could likely prove to be 2005's premature ejaculation for best album, the Polish death/fl metal hybrid professionals known as Behemoth have released an album whose musical and conceptual constituents break down the hapless walls that dare attempt to constrain them.
In an age where servers compete with record labels of all statures, the CD artwork revolution of the nineties now draws more scoffs than awes, and in turn most bands and their label homes feel that they have reached the limit of options to appeal to the potential fan.
Demigod, along with their recent albums Zos Kia Cultus, Thelema.6, and Satanica, belong in the collection of everyone from extreme metal connoisseur to listener of all hard music.

 Behemoth Review
This is not to say that other fl metal bands haven’t used acoustic guitars, synths, female vocals, clean vocals, this is saying that they are used horribly here to the point where they ruin the flow of the album and make some tracks unlistenable to.
Behemoth, in my opinion, are the best band for writing great death metal songs at the moment, as was the same with 'Thelema 6', although with 'Zos Kia Cultus' the band keep much more in touch with their fl metal roots.
Demigod is a weak follow up to the great Zos Kia Cultus, of course it’s hard to top such a great work, but Behemoth would have come close if Nergal didn’t sing so horribly.

 Demigod - Demigod-Necropsy split
Demigod’s side begins with their classic and unmistakably evil intro, "Perpetual Ascent"- an atmospheric keyboard, guitar, and drum instrumental announcing the presence of the otherworldly evil that the band wishes to unleash upon its listeners.
The song becomes a rhythmic dirge with the tiniest hints of melody, with three or four dissonant chords used simply to establish a violent motion in melody, before the beast descends into the abyss which from which it rose, dragging humanity with it into the pit.
Mission stated, the band wastes no time launching into the demo proper, with blazingly fast riffs contrasted with a fearsome churning dirge, the latter being where the album is truly brutal, crushing the listener beneath the weight of the realization of impending mortality, as opposed to the nearly incomprehensible chaos of the former.

ADRAMELECH - Finnish Death Metal - GAY CHRIST RECORDS: Black and Death Metal CDR Traders/Non-Profit Label
An oft-cited fact about ADRAMELECH is of their bloodline with Finnish death metal legends DEMIGOD, knowledge which has buried the former in the (sullen) eyes of many given that the latter truly managed to live up to their moniker.
Although, as could be expected, this EP is not a large departure from their previously recorded work (with ½ of non-intro material re-recorded from the demo), the B-side track “Revived” in particular manages to be one of the most ambitious songs written by the band, who are generally regarded as reliably straight-forward in approach.
DEMIGOD influence shines forth fully on the track; percussion is supportive, but not overbearing, which lends an elegant air to the movement of the song, opening it to more mature melodic interplay.

As they grew into a better band, they managed to transform their sound into a more polished death/fl metal combination (and a very heavy one, at that).
With the exception of a select few bands, I find most brutal death metal/grind to just be a sloppy wall of noise.
There are some bands who are so set on just slopping together the heaviest thing they can come up with that the instruments aren't even on time with each other.

and then half-pint demigod was put on the shelf, unreleased, where it sat for three years, while the two core artists behind it resumed their lives.

Get Ready to ROCK! Interview with Nergal of metal rock band Behemoth
One of the main conclusions that I have made is that it’s very difficult to find a band nowadays that has the talent and the ability to release something new and inspiring, that would create and affect to the Metal world.
Nergal: Most of the bands that you’re referring to are the kind of band that like to sit home and do nothing.
You asked me about good and band experiences: In the period before we released 'Satanica' things were really bad for the band, to the point when we even considered quitting making music.

Although the band Behemoth has been around for almost twenty years, the band is still a fairly new band to the United States.
Upon the completion of their final tour of the United States this year with Danzig in support of Demigod, it is safe to say that they came, they destroyed, and they conquered.
Demigod is a pretty complex record, so it is pretty difficult to give an explanation in one or two sentences.

But half-pint demigod was produced on a Mac computer, using Logic Audio, and for the first time in my life I didn't have to work within the restraints of the recording medium I was using.
More crucially, a huge amount of the sound-tweaking for half-pint demigod was done with a program called Pluggo, which is basically a collection of dozens of audio plug-ins, nearly every single one of them explicitly designed to take "normal" recordings and turn them into thoroughly bizarre sounds.
A lot of half-pint demigod's overall sound is literally a cross between my two solo albums: something of an expansion on the more spacious and lush atmospheres of Disruption Theory, while also setting the stage for the more agressive, glitched-out sound of Normalized.
