The Democratic Labor Party, a political group composed of labor activists and progressives, was formally launched yesterday in an inauguration ceremony in Seoul with about 3,000 party members and foreign guests attending.
the party said in a statement at the ceremony held at the Weightlifting Gymnasium of the Olympic Park.
Female members of the party held a separate meeting prior to the event to adopt a statement calling for the increased role of women in politics.

Yes, the industrial groups were part of the power struggle in the unions and the Labor Party, and this triggered the Split through the success in gaining control of many of the major unions, but all the elements for a split were present before the formation of the industrial groups.
I read it, the party officers read it, and the PR person read it, and a mate of mine interested in the media read it, and we put a booklet in, which was a talk by a Dr Claire Isbister, that she gave at the DLP conference that year about families.
