Classic-Horror Review of Demon Knight (1996)
However, I can tell you that Demon Knight has something to do with demons (that's generous of me, eh?) and a grand mythological story that ties them in with the bible and warns of the possibility of their gaining control of the universe.
The titular knight both refers to a literal knight-like figure who tries to prevent the demons' bid for universal kingship and is a pun on "night." Both "Demon Knight" and "Demon Night" are titles literally suiting the film.
Setting Demon Knight during one night in only two primary locations was another smart move (and one that was in the original script) and allows Dickerson and Adler to keep their direction taut and focused.

UHM - Review - Demon Knight
Once the knight discovers where he's located, hell ensues and the tenants and Brayker are forced to stay within the motel walls, because they know once they step foot outside they'll be devoured by the evil demon beasties from hell!!
I really love this movie because of its use of dark and neon colors and the demons were pretty badass looking (especially with the neon-green eyes).
Either way, the demons here are some of the best (equal to Lamberto Bava's Demons and the cult flick Night of the Demons) looking in a horror movie, and believe me, I've seen a lot of demon films in my time.

 Demon Knight: The Sacrifice v2.0
Demon Knights are amongst the unluckiest of the World of Darkness' denizens.
Each Knight has nothing to live for but the key and becomes obsessive about protecting it, to the point that he will willingly die before passing the Key on if he knows it's safe (Brayker's willingness to leave the motel without the key at the start of the film).
Once he finds them, the Knight knows that one of them has the potential to be his successor and will stay with them until he can assess which one it is. In Brayker's case, he realised Jerralyn was the one simply because she was the last one left alive.

ToxicUniverse.com - Ernest Dickerson - 1995 - Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight Movies Review
Demon Knight tells the story of a drifter named Brayker (William Sadler, who perhaps not coincidentally also starred in the premiere episode of Tales on TV, "The Man Who Was Death") who is being chased by a man known only as The Collector (Billy Zane: Titanic).
Demon Knight‘s special effects are pretty top notch for what has to be a relatively low budget.
The demons look almost like human-sized versions of Stan Winston's Pumpkinhead, and for a mid-'90s film (the MPAA was still pretty tough on the genre at the time after the virtual neutering that they performed in the late '80s) the blood flows like wine.

Like Creepshow before it, Demon Knight blends fair amounts of blood, sex, and knowing comedy with a paper-thin plot that doesn't leave a bit of room for subtext.
There's a lot wrong with Demon Knight's shallow premise, and you could make a checklist of the movies it gleefully steals from (Night of the Living Dead and The Evil Dead are two of many), but thrill-seekers who prefer laughs with their grisly special effects and gratuitous nudity should have a mindless blast watching it.
