The classification means that the film may contain material which some children find confusing or upsetting and may require guidance.
A survey by the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) has indicated that most cinemas are failing to display important classification details on film trailers and promotional material – raising concerns about the quality of information used to inform the choices of moviegoers; in particular the families of young children.
I understand that there have been a number of recent film classifications—and I am not sure if Senator Fielding’s reference is to those—and I can provide him with the detail on those.

 VERTIGO
The film opens with a dramatic rooftop chase that introduces the audience to Scottie (Stewart), a police detective, and his darkest fear.
His inability to save her from her demons, his infernal vertigo disables him in her time of need, causes him to lose the war against his own inner demons, which even time can't erase.
It has to be one of his most subtle films, leading you along one path only to have everything you believe to be true, suddenly destroyed.

One of Keanu Reeves's best performances to recent date and desserves to be up as one of the best "comic to film" pictures as it involved some great cinematic moments.

Arrow In The Head's movie review of The Gate: Stephen Dorff/Glenn, Christa Denton/Al, Louis Tripp/Terry
Even from an adult's point of view, the film has many spooky moments (the blinking lights, the moths, the ghosts, the dream sequences, the guy living in the walls), way kool effects (the little demons still look good, the eye in the hand) and mucho atmosphere (the creepy hole and shadows).
The film goes out of its way to be creative and in this age of unoriginality, it’s really refreshing to see.
The film’s main action set piece for example is pretty exhilarating.

 Frailty 'demonizes' its sinners
First, assuming the visions are correct, it seems the 'demons' destroyed by the father and his son are not really fallen angels, but humans who have committed great sins.
But just as it would be wrong to write the film off altogether, it would also be wrong to excuse some of the more subtle attitudes embodied by the film or its main characters.
Frailty is not just another movie which suggests that people with quasi-fundamentalist beliefs are violent or insane; it also flirts with the possibility that the father in question really does have supernatural guidance after all.

Buffy, a high school student (now in college) in Sunnydale, Calif., discovers that she's the vampire slayer, and that her town sits on a "hellmouth" where demons are constantly trying to make an opening to escape from perdition.
In short, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a parable, a postmodern morality play in which Buffy is a Christ figure, her Scooby Gang is the church and the vampires and demons represent the variety of temptation and moral hazards we all encounter in life.
When vampires in Buffy are dispatched with a wooden stake or crossbow, they disappear in a puff of dust.

Guardian Unlimited Film Reviews Sylvia (2003)
Unfairly castigated by the critics, this film shows the complex relationship between two artists and the torment of a 50s woman conflicted by conventional expectations to conform to the role of wife and mother and her yearning for a writer's career.
Film does little to explore why - or what made SP tick, or what went into her poems, or who her "Daddy" was - probably her most well-known, and disturbing poem.
Admittedly this film is flawed, but it is still a creditable reconstruction of the events of Plath's life, and with impressive performances by Paltrow and Craig and a beautiful score.

Constantine Film Review by Seb Parker
The film kicks off when John is called in to perform an exorcism on a girl (Johanna Trias) who’s been crawling on the ceiling and spitting obscenities at her God-fearing mother.
Constantine makes it his mission to be a sort of divine avenger, sending those half-breed demons — who, of course, seek to create a Hell on Earth — and other transgressors directly to Hell while policing the boundaries of Earth and the realms of Heaven and Hell.
Yet the film’s larger themes are far more compelling than Dodson’s agony over her sister’s inexplicable suicide.

IMDb user comments for Sylvia (2003)
Sylvia in this film is brilliant but also terribly brittle and her inner demons are not caused by a brutish or callous husband.
Sylvia was limited, perhaps, by the refusal of her daughter to allow much of Plath's poetry to be used in the film but, for whatever reason, it has failed to be more than a rather humdrum biopic.
For starters, the film is titled `Sylvia,' not `Sylvia Plath,' forgoing any notion that this will be a thorough expose on the famous poet and her relationship with love, sanity, and words.

Piñero (2001): Benjamin Bratt, Giancarlo Esposito, Talisa Soto, Mandy Patinkin - PopMatters Film Review
This first scene in Leon Ichaso's biographical film, Piñero, sets up a complex series of relationships between the artist and his demons -- or more pointedly, between the artist and the various audiences he sought to influence and astonish.
The film's time-jumping structure and sporadic references to the prejudices and class politics that shaped the young junkie's life suggest there are a number of reasons for his "deviance." Still, the narrative weight granted the father-son relationship might suggest a reductive explanation: paternal abuse = homosexuality and self-destruction.
The film is unusually sensitive to the many layers of identity and identification at work in the designation Nuyorican, and especially the political contexts informing it.

Soothing yet -- to these ears -- far from cheerful, her singing, heard in the context of a film about her private demons, sounds ineffably mournful.

 American Psycho film review
Like the book, the film doesn't always know what it is trying to satirise, but for the most part it hits its targets, striking the right queasy balance between horror and humour, so that while we recoil at Patrick's heinous crimes, we find ourselves compelled to laugh at him.
Stylistically, the film is exudes an eerie cleanliness and Harron directs with flair and courage, implying violence and showing the terrible aftermath, leaving us to fill in the gaps.
Chloe Sevigny, playing Patrick's secretary, represents the sole voice of compassion and humanity in the whole film and as such is the person we most identify with in this nightmare world.

 Incubus - GoSale.com
INCUBUS is often cited as a mere curiosity because it is the only film to date in which the characters speak solely in the artificial language of Esperanto.
INCUBUS is set in Nomen Tuum, a village on an idyllic island that also happens to be the hunting grounds of two succubae (beautiful female demons that seduce human males and lead them to ruin).
Mistaken largely for a foreign film because the dialogue is in Esperanto (Incubus was filmed in California), the film manages to use it's low budget to it's advantage and is heavy in gloomy atmosphere and mood setting music.

DVD Verdict Review - The Incubus
The Incubus is based on a novel, and by its very nature, a film has to excise important foundation material in order to compensate for a short running time.
The incubus of legend may have been a wicked sprite driven by uncontrolled lust, but the only thing you'll covet after watching its movie namesake is a pair of cosmetic tweezers and a copy of Demons for Dummies.

 Exotica
However, this much can be told: the central character, Francis (a tortuously perfect performance by Bruce Greenwood) spends his days auditing a pet store that is a front for illegally imported exotic birds while spending his nights trying to exorcise his demons in the otherworldly strangeness of the movie-titled strip club.
However, the last half hour of the film brings everything together in a most satisfying, almost tender, conclusion.
That the customers at Exotica appear to be in a trance, listening to the gloomy tunes of Leonard Cohen while watching the girls dance, and that the central figures all have massive emotional problems that we can only begin to guess at, gives Exotica an off-putting air for much of the first hour.

This film makes an effort to be faithful to its source material but even if you've played Doom, it's the James Cameron film that keeps coming to mind, not the game.
So it is with Doom, which is based on a computer game that's famous for popularising the first-person shooter genre but storywise was basically Aliens with demons instead of space creatures.
He'd better hurry up and make at least one first rate action film before audiences tire of him and he ends up in direct to video garbage like Seagal and Van Damme.
