On the momentous day in 1572, the Watergeuzen appeared before the north port of Den Briel and demanded the surrender of the small, but strategically important port in the Maas and Rhine delta.
Den Briel- also called Brielle at that time- had, as so many towns, not yet united in the uprising against the reign of the Spanish King and his envoy, the Duke of Alva.
Then the answer to the cry “In the name of Oranje, open the gate!” was held back too long, the Watergeuzen besieged the north gate and forced their way into the town, where they subsequently became substantial householders.

SignOnSanDiego.com > News > Business -- No 'cattle car'? Southwest plans S.D. boarding tests
Open seating actually is one of the most efficient ways to board passengers aboard a commercial jetliner, said Menkes van den Briel of Arizona State University, who analyzed boarding procedures in a 2002 study.
A few minutes shaved off for each stop could add up throughout the day, Van den Briel said, perhaps enough so an airline could schedule one more flight, which means more passengers and revenue.
In their 2002 study done on behalf of what was then America West Airlines, Van den Briel and co-author Rene Villalobos developed computerized simulations of passengers boarding airplanes after videotaping how real passengers moved, stowed their luggage and settled into their seats.

The engineers looked at an inside-out strategy that boards planes from window to aisle, and also examined a 2002 simulation study that claimed calling passengers individually by seat number was the fastest way to load an aircraft.

Villalobos and van den Briel looked at interference resulting from passengers obstructing the aisle, as well as that caused by seated passengers blocking a window or middle seat.
