Denali National Park is one of the world's best places to see wildlife in its natural environment, and nowhere in the world is there more spectacular background scenery.
Whether through binoculars or with the naked eye, you may be fortunate enough to see a grizzly sow nursing her first-year cubs; a band of bull caribou with huge racks browsing along the tundra; or Dall sheep on the high mountain ridges, playing and frolicking as if they knew they were being observed.
Although Denali National Park is a wilderness - and wildlife events don't occure on a schedule - the scenery is always superlative, and it's rare that a trip doesn't produce numerous wildlife sightings.

Formed shortly after Denali broke up in early 2004, Ambulette had had a pretty smooth ride until the robbery, attracting interest from several labels in their first few months as a band.
Denali and Euphone were labelmates on Jade Tree, and when Denali needed a rhythm section for a final tour, Davis enlisted Rapsys.
Capitol is planning on an early 2007 release, but nobody in the band is banking on that -- they're all used to relatively compressed indie timetables, and this album already seems to have been in the works forever.

The band was formed in April 2002 when Davis asked her older brother, singer-guitarist Keeley Davis of the band Engine Down, to help her flesh out some tunes she'd written.
The band members primarily produced their debut effort themselves--it was recorded this past December-- but Sparklehorse impresario Mark Linkous helped out on a couple tracks.
Her vocals shimmer amid the band's tensile scaffolding of keyboards, rhythm section and guitar architecture, decorated with occasional cornices of synthesizer, sequence and sampler.

 Ambulette : Band
She once took it upon herself to enroll in a jazz vocal class but it didn’t "stick." Nevertheless, the former front woman for the critically praised Denali has found a new vehicle for her pensive leanings, and one that’s not afraid of a little distortion.
Where Denali was often pegged as a darker-sounding band, Ambulette gravitate more towards a grand mix of emotional highs and lows, and with Davis’ voice more expressive than ever before.
With everything else that’s happened to her and her new bandmates over the past two years, Ambulette seems now to be a crossroads for the group, the culmination of a serious dose of fate and an abiding expression of musical passion.

His mom spurred a love of music in Denali because she was collector of records and he said he absorbed a number of music genres and she got him to take piano lessons as well.
Denali said that is where a band gets to know one another, the music and their tendencies (positive and negative), etc. He says treats rehearsals differently in the fact he’s more interested in getting deep inside a couple of songs than playing as many as possible in the time allotted.

Their debut was a dark, brooding, and surprisingly accomplished record; however, the members of Denali peek out of the shadows for their follow-up, "The Instinct." Sounding bolder and more determined, the emotions come across convincingly and unapologetically.
Denali began in Richmond, Virginia, in April of 2000 when Maura Davis approached her older brother and Engine Down singer/guitarist Keeley Davis with the idea of fleshing out some songs that she had been working on.
Though Denali is her first formal project, it is through this blissful avoidance that she and the band manage to cut a fresh and heretofore untraveled path through the massive overgrowth of modern-day rock music.

Denali, the Richmond, VA band featuring Engine Down's Keeley Davis and his younger sister Maura, have issued an official press release announcing the group's breakup.
According to the release, interpersonal strife may be to blame: "Due to differences in the band, Denali cannot continue in the current state." Although the announcement is a bit abrupt, it's not entirely unexpected, as Keeley and drummer Jonathan Fuller departed a couple of months ago.
Unfortunately, this development means that the band will not be fulfilling their touring duties as a part of the Plea for Peace tour with Cursive, Darkest Hour, and Mike Park.

“Cold, remotely desolate, permanent.” These are the characteristics that Denali the band feels their music has in common with their namesake mountain (that’s Mount McKinley for those who don’t speak Athapascan), and I agree completely, though the “cold” of Denali is far different from the “cold” of, say, Kraftwerk.
