	G6 howitzer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The G6 self propelled howitzer was developed around the ordnance of the G5 howitzer.
		Both the G5 and the G6 have been used in the close air support role in place of aircraft, which were often too valuable to risk.
		In addition to the logistical mobility afforded by a wheeled chassis, the G6 is protected against counter battery fire and is able to defend itself in an unsecured area.

		The G7 is a South African 105 mm howitzer, produced by Denel.
		In 2004 Denel partnered with General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) to offer the gun in self-propelled form to the United States Army.
		In parallel with the G7's testing on the LAV-III Denel is also planning to fit it and its turret to a Rooikat armoured vehicle for its offer to the South African Army.

		Denel insists that the Indian ministry of defence has not officially informed it that its contract has been cancelled and some analysts believe the decision could yet be reversed.
