  1972 NHL Amateur Draft -- Denis Herron
Herron came back to Pittsburgh when he signed as a restricted free agent on Aug. 7, 1976.
Pittsburgh lost Herron again when it traded him with its 1982 second-round pick (Jocelyn Gauvreau) to Montreal in exchange for Pat Hughes and Rob Holland on Aug. 30, 1979.
Pittsburgh got Herron back again when it obtained him from Montreal in exchange for Pittsburgh's 1985 third-round pick (later traded) on Sept. 15, 1982.

January 18, 1952 in Chambly, Quebec) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goalie who played for the Montreal Canadiens, Kansas City Scouts, and Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League.
Denis won the 1982 Vezina Trophy with Montreal along with Michel Larocque and Richard Sevigny and the William M. Jennings Trophy with Rick Wamsley.

Denis Herron played junior hockey for the Trois-Rivieres Draveurs of the QJHL, where he was named to the Second All-Star team in 1972.
Herron had a full time job with the Pens for the next three years and also made an appearance with Team Canada at the World Championships in 1978.
In August 1979 one of Herron's childhood dreams came true: he was traded to Montreal and had the chance to tend goal for the Canadiens.

Wamsley's career saw him record a 204-131-46 mark with a 3.34 goals against average during stints with Montreal, St. Louis, and Calgary, including a Stanley Cup Championship with the Flames in 1988-89.
