Transcript: Above the Law? Washington Power Brokers
Dennis Bernstein: Henry Hyde was one of twelve directors of the Clyde Federal Savings and Loan of North Riverside Illinois which failed to the tune of 68 million dollars in 1990.
Dennis Bernstein: So you might characterize him as an independent citizen with some knowledge of banking, who was concerned as a citizen about what had happened, what might have gone wrong, at this particular, sort of sleepy S and L? Ernie Rizzo: Right.
Dennis Bernstein: As you heard, Rizzo, with more than 30 years experience as a investigator, ultimately found Anderson to be exactly what he claimed to be: a knowledgeable citizen who was mad as hell because Henry Hyde used the trust of the people to the tune of 70 million dollars and was never held accountable.

 To: Charles Rappleye, LA Weekly
Bernstein did not go "running through the station." Bernstein was told not only that he was on administrative leave, but also that he was to leave the building at once and could not get his personal possessions from his office.
Bernstein, upon being told by the hours-old manager from Texas, Garland Ganter, that he was being placed on administrative leave and was to leave the premises immediately (with only car keys), insisted on having this explained to him and was responded to with Ganter's "leave the building now".
Bernstein defended himself by demanding not to be hurt, first off mike and then on-air when someone switched the mike on.

KPFA, Dennis Bernstein and "the Hanrahan affair" : Indybay
Thursday Jul 21st, 2005 1:01 AM This statement defending Dennis Bernstein from the attack against him by Noelle Hanrahan was originally written in 2002 and recently reposted to the KPFK listener forum (http://disc.server.com/Indices/165346.html).
(Dennis first raised the issue of Noelle's hostility in June 2001, as a result of several temper tantrums by Noelle and what he characterized as her abusive treatment of Yun.) Again, this is all documented.
I was producing for Flashpoints when Dennis had to seek another office in the station due to concerns that she might become physically violent.

Pina: According to him, it was already prearranged, that he knew when the attack was going to happen on the prison, and that his job was to whisk the Prime Minister away, and to kill him, to assassinate him.
Bernstein: Kevin, [talk] more about the killing, were there people killed yesterday or just wounded from the gunfire.
Bernstein: And of course it is no surprise that Bill Quigley and those lawyers working for justice for the Haitians are having their offices broken into, their computers stolen, and their files rifled.

Dennis Bernstein: And these documents, these FOIA documents that you got under the [Freedom of Information Act], of the alleged July 6, 2005 massacre, these documents show that the United States and the United Nations had information...knew that there were many human rights activists saying something else happened and they continued to deny the massacre.
