Dennis A. Cardoza (born March 31, 1959) is an American politician, and has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 2003, representing the 18th District of California (map).
Cardoza was born in Merced, California, of Portuguese ancestry.

Cardoza easily beat Condit in the primary but Monteith, a center-right Republican who opposes abortion rights, gave Cardoza a stronger-than-expected battle in the 18th District, a key swing district in central California.
Cardoza's assembly district makes up about 70 percent of the congressional district, while Monteith represented about 74 percent of the electorate in the state Senate.
