  Biographies: Raymond Dart
Raymond Arthur Dart was born in Queensland, Australia, in 1893, the fifth of nine children to parents who lived on a bush farm raising cattle.
Dart, never one to shy away from extravagant claims, also concluded from his analysis of the site that these creatures had had what he called an "osteodontokeratic" (bone, tooth and horn) culture, and argued that they were savage hunters and bloodthirsty killers whose violent tendencies had left their mark in human behavior.
Dart lived to see the 60th anniversary of the discovery of the Taung child, and died in 1988 at the age of 95.

London General bought Dennis Darts in 1930 for the some of the same reasons that London Buses bought them in 1990: replacement of older buses and development of routes into new areas.
DA 33-40: Eight more 18-seater Darts, were ordered in 1932, with a revised internal layout: two triple seats facing inwards at the front, and three rows of forward facing seats behind.
The Darts and Bedfords, with petrol engines, were marked for replacement, which came in the form of the rear-engined CR class.

Leaving South Bus Station for somewhere very shy about revealing its name is East Midland Dennis Dart 815, which came from Stagecoach London, although I have a feeling it started life as one of the buses used by Docklands Transit on the 106 in London.
The Dennis Dart fleet no Mainline appears to be numbered in a rather haphazard way, with the SLFs following on from these buses and in turn being followed by Wright and Plaxton bodied examples of older Darts seemingly at random.
As well as the second and third hand Darts and Dominators Mainline operates some modern vehicles in Doncaster, as shown by 1998 Dennis Dart SLF 533, with Plaxton body, loading on College Road at the side of the South Bus Station.
