Dennis Webster DeConcini (born May 8, 1937, in Tucson) is a former Democratic U.S. Senator from Arizona.
Senator Dennis DeConcini is also known for sponsoring the critical amendment to the Panama Canal Treaty of 1977 that allowed the Senate to come to a consensus on returning Panama control of the Canal.
Senator DeConcini received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Arizona in 1959 and his LLD from the University of Arizona in 1963.

 DeConcini and Durengerver Announce Senate Retirements
Dennis DeConcini, D-Ariz., and Dave Durenberger, R-Minn., scarred by scandals and plagued by formidable re-election problems, announced Thursday they will retire from the Senate at the end of their third terms next year.
DeConcini, 55, said at a news conference at his Phoenix office that he regretted leaving some work unfinished but was glad to be through with campaign fund-raising, implying that this was a major reason for his decision not to run again.
DeConcini also faced controversies over family land deals, an image as a flip-flopper that went back to the Panama Canal controversy of the late 1970s and was reinforced by switches on Clinton's budget and a long-since-abandoned pledge to serve only two terms in the Senate.
