Baker, born May 31, 1957, to Dennis Murphree Baker and Janelle Anthony Baker, was the senior cost accountant for Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company in Tupelo.
Survivors include his father and mother, Judge Dennis and Janelle Baker of Batesville; his wife Connie Nickle Graves Baker of Batesville; one son Brendan Graves Baker of Batesville; two sisters, Jonell Baker Williamson of Jackson and Kathleen Baker Cruzen of Germantown, Tenn., and eight nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the family life center of the First United Methodist Church or ALS Association and Mid-South chapter in Memphis, Tenn. In addition, the Panola County Bar Association has established the Graves Baker Trust Fund in his honor and for the benefit of his son at First Security Bank in Batesville.

Car #51000 was completed in August, 1946 as a one-of-a-kind prototype built according to specifications developed by the then United Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Association.
It was unveiled during a lavish ceremony that included the current Governor of the state of Mississippi, Thomas L. Bailey, the past Governor, Dennis Murphree, and ICRR executives.
Ceremonies included a champagne christening, live music by a New Orleans orchestra and a banquet on Main Street for 2,000 people with dancing afterward.

One of the few antebellum houses in the Mississippi Delta to escape burning by Union forces during the Civil War, Belmont was built circa 1857 by W. Worthington.
