McLain's team had a winning percentage of.576 when he wasn't pitching.
Louis had a winning percentage of.573 when Gibson wasn't pitching so the difference between Mclain's going 31 and 6 while Gibson was going 22 and 9 can't be attributed to Mclain's team being so much better.
