Yorkshire County Cricket Club is a county cricket club based at Headingley in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.
Yorkshire CCC was famous for insisting that its players must have been born within the traditional county of Yorkshire, a rule not dropped until 1992, and Yorkshire's prospects of playing success suffered through the seventies and eighties as other counties raced to sign major overseas stars.
Test cricket was first played at Headingley in 1899 eight years later than it hosted its first ever first-class game against Kent County Cricket Club in 1891.

In its first three seasons in the County Championship, the Club played in a variety of locations around the county, but the Riverside ground was pronounced ready for cricket in time for the 1995 season, even though many of the buildings were still temporary or unfinished.

 Radlett Cricket Club - History
Club member Chris Dexter, as a sole surviving Jardine team-mate at Radlett, recalled some anecdotes in the programme of the England Amateur XI v Australia match at Cobden Hill in 1993.
He was secretary of the Test and County Cricket Board at Lord's and was already well known at the cricket club, having visited Cobden Hill regularly with Repton Pilgrims.
This left-hander was recommended by The Mote in Kent to club member Eric Howes and he played a season in 1991, scoring seven centuries at a rapid rate, though only a couple in the league.

Somerset travelled up to derbyshire for a floodlight totesport game and going into the game somerset knew that they would have to win this to stay alive for promotion.
It got of to a bad start with flwell losing the toss and therfore somerset were made to field.
Somerset now have to back up the game against the same oppostion in a county game starting tommorow and will be looking for a big win to get some confidence up going into the home strech of the season.

Last year's total was almost 26% down on 2000 and our poll suggests that the club could well see that total fall further.
When asked "Are you likely to join Derbyshire CCC this season now the price has been reduced to £60?", a massive 82% answered "You must be joking".
