Antennae and legs usually fitting into depressions or cavities under body.
The majority of Dermestidae are relatively easy to distinguish by the characteristic form, clothing of stout setae or scales forming a pattern and the presence of a single, median ocellus on the head (last figure).
The dermestid body is usually compact, with excavations and cavities for housing antennae and legs.
