 | | Well, essentially, motor pacing or Derny racing, as it is known, is a fast and furious form of racing with both rider and pacer working as a team at speeds in excess of 35 mph. |
 | | Contact between the pacer and rider is made at the start of the first bend as the pacer drops in front of their allocated rider, and then it is a case of getting the rider over the line in a qualifying position or in the fastest time. |
 | | Tucked in behind the derny, the 101 inch gear seemed smooth as my legs turned it over and with the normal bunched nature of track racing combined with the roar of derny engines, just taking part was extremely exciting. |
