Comes from the same roots as "Kaffir", and is used in Slovenia as a derogatory term for anyone originating from one of the former Yugoslav republics.
Specifically a derogatory term referring to the Gullah culture of African ex-slaves on the Atlantic Coast of North Carolina and Virginia.
This is truly only derogatory in regions of northern Mexico and in the United States where it translates to "white foreigner." Gringo/a in many other countries in Latin America really only translates as "foreigner" without a pejorative connotation.

HR 1536 prohibits the use of derogatory names or designations for public property, including buildings, streets, and parks.
In addition to the word “Jap,” the bill prohibits derogatory words for all racial or ethnic groups.

NAGPUR, JULY 19: A Nagpur-based historian and an activist of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), M M Deshmukh, was arrested from his Nagpur residence on Monday by Umari police of Nanded district for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Hindu mythological god Brahmadev and goddess Swaraswati.
According to reports, Deshmukh had delivered a public speech on April 23 at Umari on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Hindu god and goddess.
One Sanjay Kulkarni, a resident of Umari, lodged a complaint with the police in this connection and subsequently the police registered a case under Section of 295 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
