Host desecration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Regardless of the variation, in the Middle Ages the Jews were frequently accused of desecrating the host, an accusation equal in gravity to that of desecrating relics and images of Jesus and the saints.
Host desecration forms part of allegations of devil worship, particularly the fl mass, both in medieval times and later in allegations of satanic ritual abuse.
The accusation of the desecration of the host arose after Pope Innocent III had recognized (1215) the doctrine of transubstantiation, which resulted in the public and general worship of the consecrated host.

 CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Desecration
Desecration is the loss of that peculiar quality of sacredness, which inheres in places and things in virtue of the constitutive blessing of the Church.
When material objects are destined for purposes of Divine worship they are set aside with a view to this end by the solemn form of consecration or by the simpler formula of a blessing, so that they assume a sacred and inviolable character which renders unlawful their employment for profane uses.
The word desecration is commonly used in regard to churches, altars, chalices, etc.

It seems obvious that a prohibition against the desecration of a gravesite is content neutral even if it denies some protesters the right to make a symbolic statement by extinguishing the flame in Arlington Cemetery where John F. Kennedy is buried while permitting others to salute the flame by bowing their heads.
Few would doubt that a protester who extinguishes the flame has desecrated the gravesite, regardless of whether he prefaces that act with a speech explaining that his purpose is to express deep admiration or unmitigated scorn for the late President.

Indeed, as Desecration's narrative moves on it quickly drops logic in favour of surreal visuals, moments of pure cinema - which would not go amiss in a silent film from the German expressionist era - and several colourful, not to mention lyrical, moments which are almost guaranteed to leave you feeling unnerved.
In case you have not guessed Desecration is really an Italian horror film made in America and, as such, the movie basically amounts to a succession of powerful images hung together by a confusing plot.

Proponents of the flag desecration amendment have tried to inflate the number of unpunished incidents of flag desecration as well as obscure the amendment’s impact on free expression in those rare cases where it does occur.
Of the 122 incidents of flag desecration identified by the Citizens Flag Alliance (CFA) on their website, at least two-thirds (76) involved crimes that are already covered by local criminal statutes—including theft, vandalism, destruction of property, trespassing, disorderly conduct or public disturbance.
