Conflict: Desert Storm Review for PC at GamingExcellence
Conflict: Desert Storm is their first major title, published for both the PC and next generation consoles.
Desert Storm introduces an element similar to that found in the Rainbow Six series, the ability to control your team through a series of keyboard based shortcut's, issuing commands to them as the game progresses.
The problems with Desert Storm begin right at the beginning, a clunky slow user interface similar to that of what one would expect for a console version, as no mouse support is included.

The task of the Air Force in Operaton Desert Storm was to obtain air superior ity, provide air support for the ground troops, strike enemy targets in Kuwait and Iraq, and airlift Army and Marine forces.
When Operation Desert Storm was launched, it was the Air Force that conducted most of the raids against the Iraqi military.
Desert Storm marked the first time in history that an air force had defeated an enemy before a ground war was launched.

Thus in Desert Storm Trading Cards war first is removed from historical and social context, then transformed into aesthetically appealing images; weapons are severed from concerns about the social consequences of military spending and from questions about the legitimacy of the cold-war, of U.S. imperialism, and of U.S. arms exports.
Also, by limiting discussion of soldiers to general and non-lethal military conventions, Desert Storm Trading Cards obscure the terror, suffering, and killing that are the defining characteristics of warfare.
Thus, although initially Desert Storm Trading Cards and media representations of the Persian Gulf War seem vastly different--the one a childish novelty, the other the attempts by journalists to report the truth about a brutal war--they have much in common.
