		In this song, Desolation Row, Dylan uses cultural and religious stereotypes as metaphors to describe this lunacy of main stream 1960's American society.
		Desolation Row is the name he gives to the place where people have gone to opt out of the lunacy, and who are being punished by society for not wanting to participate in the lunacy.
		Desolation Row is a counter-culture destination, though more a state of mind than an actual place.

		So, my question is: I heard an amazing version of desolation row on the dead hour a few years ago where the band and bobby's voice intensified (a lot) near the end of almost every verse.
		Thanks to the information provided by Samson, I was checking out the programming from GDH over the last five years and Gans played Desolation four times, 9/24/91, 5/10/91 (they seem to like playing this song on 5/10), 4/21/86, and 7/9/90.
		If i had to guess, I would say your version is 4/21/86, but it is hard to say.
