The network uses satellite dishes about 6 to 8 feet in diameter that are currently being installed at about 50 of the country's approximately 600 reprographics companies — the firms that print and send large format blueprints between architectural firms and their clients.
"Anything that could extend an architect's deadlines would be to their advantage," said Herb Lierberman, president of BPS Reprographic Services, a San Francisco-based company that prints and distributes 60 to 70 blueprints daily and has installed one of A/E/C Express' satellites.
