No Life Til Metal - CD Gallery - Destruction
Destruction are one of the first German thrash bands, helping to pioneer the style along with Kreator and Coroner.
Destruction has always come across to me as a "noisy" thrash band, something they began to clean up in later years with "Released from Agony" and "Cracked Brain", but returned to with "All Hell's Breaking Loose." I particularly like this version of "Mad Butcher" better than the original version that appeared on the band's debut.
Destruction, along with Coroner and Kreator, defined the early German thrash movement of the late 80's/early 90's.

KFTH - War of Destruction Page
War Of Destruction was formed by guitarist Dan "Donny" Sørensen, vocalist Hans Simonsen, bassist Jan "Key" Hansen and drummer Steen Thomsen in the summer of 1981 in Århus, Denmark, the main inspiration being Discharge.
The last three years of the band were spent in the rehearsal room making weird "thrash" noise, doing only about 10-15 gigs with that lineup, as punk seemed to be dying in Denmark.
One of War of Destruction's last shows was in Fredericia (Denmark) in '88 or '89, supporting NoMeansNo, with the recording of this show scheduled to be released on vinyl in 2002 on Master Mind records.

They were looking for a bassplayer, I joined the band, and immediately we wanted to go in a more heavy direction, more fast, more speedy, with the result that some of the members immediately left the band because they wanted to play more melodic music.
The way everything happened with the band, it had to be this way, otherwise we wouldn't learn and we wouldn't get better, otherwise people would maybe start to forget about the band.
It's just a big honor for me to be hailed by those bands and to be a part of their music, it's also one of the main reasons why DESTRUCTION had the chance to come back, because those bands take the spirit of DESTRUCTION further in the nineties.

Tokyo Sex Destruction: Black Noise is the New Sound - PopMatters Music Review
All the band members adopted the last name Sinclair in honor of musician and activist John Sinclair, founder of the White Panther Party, and, in an honest attempt to recreate the scene, Tokyo Sex Destruction did everything in its power to emulate Sinclair's prodigies, the MC5.
While the band's commitment to the sounds of the MC5 and the Sonics won over some listeners (especially in light of the recent re-discovery of garage rock), the political sentiments were a tougher sell.
The band shows a lot more maturity on this album, having moved beyond their MC5/Sonics dichotomy to include some of the other pop elements of the '60s, including the psychedelic scene.

Destruction - Biography - AOL Music
Once they returned home, the band got to work on their second album, 1986's well received Eternal Devastation, but lost founding drummer Sandmann shortly before heading out on the road again, this time with fellow Teutonic thrashers Rage.
Schmier, in the meantime, had formed a new band called Headhunter and busied himself with the operation of his own restaurant; but he couldn't resist the opportunity to finally reunite with former partner in crime Sifringer, as well as drummer Sven Vormann, and re-launch Destruction at the dawn of the new millennium.
Still, the band's renewed commitment to their origins was driven home yet again by 2003's curiously named Metal Discharge, featuring drummer Marc Reign.

Voice of Destruction started in 1986, when guitarist Greg McEwan decided that his vision of a punk band could be fulfilled by forming the loudest, fastest possible band on the face of the earth.
Johan soon left the band though, and there was growing concern that the band was stuck in contractual obligations that were leading them to nothing.
Offers of a deal by Morbid Records in Germany gave the band new impetus, and they ventured into the studio to record their latest batch of atmospheric yet extremer than even songs, including the likes of "Doom" (after the essential computer game), "A beast is Born", "Religion" and others.

Along with Kreator and Sodom, Destruction was considered at the top of the class of mid-eighties German thrash metal (and, personal opinion here, the best of the three), and by the time of 1988's Release From Agony (the BNR choice for their best album), their unique brand of raw thrash had gained them worldwide appeal.
But though the band had virtually disappeared from international view, in fact guitarist Mike was still plugging away, recruiting a new lineup and recording three self-financed albums in the mid-nineties, albums that are regarded as decent in their own right but lacking the true Destruction spirit.
Pared back to a trio as in the early days, the rejuvenated band recorded All Hell Breaks Loose in 2000, and to date the "new" Destruction have released four albums, most recently Inventor Of Evil in August 2005.
