GamingWorld X - Destruction Derby Arenas Review
Destruction Derby Arenas isn’t the next Gran Turismo, and happily doesn’t aim to be.
The meat of the game is the championship mode, where you compete in 12 races and 4 Destruction Bowls, which are competitions where cars are let loose in an enclosed arena to just crash and bash one another for points (and to see pretty explosions).
Bottom Line - Destruction Derby Arenas is a mindlessly fun game with an addictive quality to the upgrade system, and the mounds of unlockable cars also helps to boost the replay value.

Destruction Derby Arenas Review - FUTURE GAMEZ   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-25)
Destruction Derby 2 would have to be one of my fondest memories of the PSOne; the game was tough as nails, while also being a mean, addictive arcade-meets-simulation look at the destruction derby world.
Destruction Bowl mode is similar to the traditional destruction derbies; 20 cars are placed in a large arena, and must crash, bump and burn the opponents to get the most points within the time limit.
Destruction Derby Arenas takes a drastic sidestep from the PSOne titles which built a solid fanbase; while fans may be disappointed, there’s still a fun game to be had.

 G4 - Feature - Destruction Derby Arenas (PS2) Review
Then there's the destruction bowl mode, which is the classic arena-style destruction derby, where the only goal is to inflict pain on your opponents.
Destruction Derby Arenas definitely doesn't overwhelm in the visual department, but the game's mix of gaudy, pseudo-anime style character screens and colorful environments give it a lively, energetic vibe.
But as it stands, Destruction Derby Arenas is a shallow but enjoyable way to blow through some free time, and a nice antidote to overly realistic racing games.

 WORTHPLAYING - - All about games !
Destruction Derby Arenas basic enjoyable premise remains the same — take control of a fully destructible car and throw it around a series of tracks and bowls.
The destruction bowl arenas allow you to let off a little steam by crunking up the competitors, but even here spins are favored over straight-on crashes.
But, again, since the goal of each race isn’t to place first, your priority will mostly be on forcing rival racers to lose control of their car, and not on rocketing through the competition with reckless (as it were) abandon to those around you.

Speaking of Destruction Derby Arenas, here we have a great example of the simplicity of human mind – we create to destroy in order to create again.
And since it all makes perfect sense, nobody should shake his or her head in blank astonishment when finding out about the main purpose of DDA – scoring points by destroying (opponents, garbage bins, even controllers and, as a consequence, friendships).
By all means DDA is less a simple arcade style wrecking game, but more a critical essay on the lack of responsibility, social engagement and loyalty in a society that’s been cut off of its moral roots.
