	Devil sticks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Devil stick (also Devil Stick, devilstick, devil-stick, Rhythm Stick, etc., or plural forms) manipulation is a form of gyroscopic juggling, or equilibristics and is generally considered to be one of the 'circus arts'.
		A set of devil sticks consists of one baton—usually about 60-120 cm (2-4 feet) long—and two control sticks—generally about 1 cm (0.4 inch) thick and 30-50 cm (12-20 inches) long—which are used to manipulate the baton.
		The stick may be knocked off balance by the other player's stick but not by any part of their body, hitting the stick with parts of your body or knocking the opponent's head with the moving stick may count as a foul, game is forfeit when an agreed-upon number of fouls is reached.

		i've used crystal (sp?) sticks, and while they are slow and sticky, i think the techniques for learning to use one of those doesn't carry over to regular devil stick as well as you'd think.
		once you have a good command of the basic devil stick moves (double sticking, single sticking, flat spins, and propeller spins...(that's the order i suggest you try to learn them too)), using a crystal stick is occasionally helpful for figuring out exactly how more complicated moved are supposed to go, but it's not really necessary.

		I have some fire devil sticks that are really heavy and I like them alot, but I went and tried a normal devil stick that weighed about half as much and I hate it, it was like a twig that spun.

		I would have thought that the name of the art was devil sticking or devil-sticking (lowercase), though I haven't anything but gut feeling to back this up and I defer to your knowledge of what terms are used most by stickers.
