Diane McGifford (born March 26, 1945) is a Manitoba politician, and a current member of Premier Gary Doer's cabinet.
McGifford was born in Manchester, England, and moved to Manitoba at a young age.
McGifford was elected to the Manitoba assembly in the provincial election of 1995, defeating incumbent Liberal Norma McCormick by almost one thousand votes in the central Winnipeg riding of Osborne.

Manitoba’s first combined university and college could be offering courses as early as the fall of 2005, said Diane McGifford, Manitoba’s minister of advanced education.
The government passed legislation in June to create the long-awaited University College of the North, combining Keewatin Community College, based primarily in The Pas and Thompson, with a new university under development by an interim council of northern educators and community leaders.
McGifford said that UCN could eventually take over those programs, which could force faculty to choose whether to join UCN.
