Durbin appeared to explain why "some Democrats" are upset that George Bush mentioned Iraq in his 9/11 anniversary speech last night.
Durbin sounded like a petty nitpicker because he didn't mention the ONE THING that validated his argument - that even George Bush has admitted that Saddam Hussein and Iraq had "nothing" to do with 9/11.

The comments made by Durbin implied that the actions of American service men were very similar to those of torturers from these other conflicts causing people involved with these earlier periods great distress.
Durbin's apology to these aggrieved groups seems to have cooled tempers some, but he will have a long way to go to regain the trust of these foreign torturers.
