  SCS Round 12 Summary
Craig Lowndes turned pole into a race lead by turn one, but the Fords were proving quick - so quick in fact that Radisich's Falcon slipped by the HRT #1 on lap 3, while Skaife struggled until the 13th of the 16-lap heat to finally overtake Ellery's Ford.
The penalty when it came through was a race two rear-of-grid start but no loss of points so, while it cost the tall West Australian, it didn't seriously impact his Championship aspirations.
Race two saw another (and hopefully the last) reverse grid start for the top six finishers from heat one, with Ellery the best away from Skaife, Longhurst, Lowndes and Radisich.

The V8 Supercar is a category of touring car racing that evolved in Australia in the early 1990s.
Both Ford and Holden engines are based on racing engines from their respective US parent companies.
Whilst the racing through the field is close and aggressive, the quasi-factory Holden Racing Team team, closely associated with factory-approved Holden modified Holden Special Vehicles has, over the course of the decade, usually held a slim but decisive margin over its rivals.
