His work in animated cartoon shorts included The Brave Little Tailor, in which he animated scenes of Mickey Mouse and the king; Mickey and the bear in The Pointer, and German dialogue scenes in the World War II propaganda short Education for Death (shortly before Thomas enlisted in the airforce).
Thomas was directing animator for several memorable villains, including the evil stepmother Lady Tremaine in Cinderella, the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland, and Captain Hook in Peter Pan.
Regarded as the definitive authority on traditional hand-drawn character animation (particularly in the Disney style), the book has been republished numerous times, and is often considered "the bible" among character animators.

One of the things that has fascinated me about Hollywood animation's "Golden Age" is the nomadic nature of many of the animators.
Earl Duvall did work for DSisney as an animator but his chief claim to fame there was that he drew the very first Mickey Mouse Sunday page in 1932 (as well as the first Silly Symphony top strip) before he went to Warner's and created the Buddy series there.
Dick Lundy and Preston Blair have definitely passed away.

He's often described as a sloppy animator by some, particularly during his stint as an animator for Friz Freleng and Bob McKimson at Warner Bros. in the late 40s.
Don Patterson was also another energetic animator, one with such a kooky style that it almost seemed TOO wild for Tom & Jerry.
Unfortunately his stint as a director was short-lived and was demoted to animator again at Lantz (why it wasn't Paul Smith who was demoted is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of animation).

As far as the claim that Bob animated ALL of the new animation in "What's Cookin' Doc", there are portions animated by Rod Scribner (when he pulls down the screen and throws "Smokey" the film cans).
It's probably safe to assume, though, that Sibley did about 95% of the animation in those cartoons as most of it seems to be his style.
Norman Ferguson is also the only animator credited on "Social Lion" and, in this case, I do think he did all of the animation in that cartoon since Ferguson was one of the most highly regarded of the Disney animators.
