 | | Pictorial or digital representations of typeface designs, or any kind of more-or-less mechanical reproduction of them, such as bitmapped printer or screen fonts, are likewise not subject to copyright. |
 | | And, most influential of all, the institutional environment in which digital type is created, organized chiefly around elaborate licensing agreements (in default of copyright protection), will continue to dictate for the forseeable future the terms under which high-quality professional typefaces can be obtained and used. |
