One of the first big challenges for the pioneers of digital typography was the limitation placed upon them by the way fonts were represented on computer systems.
In addition, with traditional print typography, copy fitting, the art of fitting text into a constrained amount of space, is no longer a concern because we have an infinite (technically finite because we are limited by the memory of a computer) amount of space to work with.
In addition, with the advent of digital typography and desktop publishing, almost anyone can publish her own works in a relatively easy manner.

In addition to actually adding the digital signature to the font file, the tool will perform tests to help publishers ensure their fonts conform to the published font specifications and do not contain serious bugs.
