		Digos City Division was awarded Plaques of Recognition for being -the Top Performing Division in the National Achievement Test (NAT) SY 2005-06 in all five learning areas (English, Math, Science, Filipino and HEKASI) Elementary level-one of the Top three Divisions with the highest gains in NAT (elementary level)
		This line has indeed moved Digos City Division to imperatively consider by heart the use of technology as a tool to learn and to teach.
		That is why, I can humbly say that Digos City performs better for three consecutive years now as evidenced by the different assessment results in comparison to the previous achievements that the division had.

		There are 27 cities in the six regions of Mindanao, 11 of them we classified as new, having been converted only in the last eight years, after local leaders had tasted the benefits of local autonomy brought about by the implementation of the Local Government Code of 1991.
		The advantage of being converted into a city only recently is that an LGU has had the chance to plan well from the time that its conversion was being proposed, says Romeo Aniñon, who has been planning and development coordinator of Digos since 1987, when it was still a municipality.
		The city government was able to purchase the necessary textbooks for all grade school and high school levels, provide computers in every public school, and send teachers to trainings and seminars.

		DIGOS CITY—Police raided a suspected shabu laboratory inside a deactivated charcoal factory owned by a Chinese-Filipino family in Barangay Sinawilan here early yesterday, Mayor Arsenio Latasa said.
		Latasa, who joined the raiding team composed of members of the city police and the 1103rd Provincial Police Mobile Group, said the agents confiscated about a kilogram of processed substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), chemicals and equipment believed to be used in manufacturing drugs.
		Several persons were killed in the raid and a large quantity of shabu was hauled from the two-story building being used by the syndicate.
