Dijon-Prenois - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Although Formula One has not returned to Dijon since 1984, the circuit continues to be used today for minor, local races.
Therefore, an extension was added to lengthen the circuit, as well as to reprofile many of its corners, by the time F1 returned to Dijon in 1977.
Also, several Swiss racing series use this circuit, as motor racing is still banned in Switzerland.

Dijon became the sixth circuit to host the French Grand Prix in the 24 years of World Championship racing.
Located almost 200 miles from Paris the short (just 2.044 miles in length) circuit was considered too small to have any chance of becoming a permanent home for the French race.

 Jackals racetrack
Indeed, through many of the Dijon bends there was still a fair bit more left in the car and to be frank, because of being preoccupied and trying to fix the problems I never really got into the science of lines and trying to improve my speed and technique.
Come the first few laps of Dijon it was clear that a new problem had developed, this time a less violent misfire higher up in the rev ranges mainly under stronger throttle loads and after the car was up to temperature.
Although much of Dijon is a flowing momentum thing, the back straight always posed a problem and the car never really saw the right side of 115mph cos it was jerking and misfiring so much (130mph+ should be possible).

The Prenois circuit was built in the early 1970s, on an escarpment to the west of Dijon, but overlooking the city.
In 1982 Dijon held a second Swiss Grand Prix, this time a round of the World Championship and it was won by Keke Rosberg, the Finn's first F1 victory.
By then Formula 1 had outgrown Dijon and although Formula 3000 races continued to be held until 1988, the track was fading although sportscars continued to visit the track on occasion and it remained an important track for the French national racing scene.

"This is round seven and the race is crucial for us," the Dutchman stressed, "Dijon is a known as a tough circuit and you need to have nerves of steel to take some of these high-speed corners.
