		Before watching "Dil Se.." ("From the Heart") the closest I had come to seeing a Bollywood movie was "Bride and Prejudice," which had the virtue of being in English.
		There are only five songs in "Dil Se..," but each is a major production and since they are not translated how they add to or comment upon the action is completely lost on me (even now that I have sought out translations of the songs on the Internet).
		Dil Se was conceived as the finale in Ratnam's trilogy of films on the subject of Terrorism, following Roja and Bombay.

		When Dil Se came out in India it went down faster at the box office than a man with cement boots on in the ocean.
		I know there are many precedents in every film industry for this sort of thing, but it astonishes me that a film as brilliant and bold as this one hit with such a thud.
