Anderson was a director of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, a trustee of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and a member of the Texas Institute of Letters.
Dillon Anderson died in Houston in 1974 and is buried there.

Clarence Douglas Dillon (August 21, 1909 – January 10, 2003) son of Clarence and Ann (Douglass) Dillon, was U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to France (1953-1957) and 57th secretary of the United States Department of the Treasury (1961-1965).
He was vice president, then director, then chairman of the board of Dillon, Read and Company, co-founded by his father, Clarence Dillon.
Dillon served as President of the New York Metropolitan Museum, esp. building up its Chinese galleries; personally donating $20 million to the museum and leading a fundraising campaign that raised an additional $100 million.

Dillon was brutally murdered by his mother’s boyfriend of seven months; he was three years old, a week away from his fourth birthday.
She said that Denise gave many reasons why Dillon wouldn’t be attending therapy on the scheduled days; one of the reasons was that Dillon was attending an out-of-state funeral with his biological father (she also told this to the daycare center).
She told investigators that she was concerned that the reason Dillon couldn’t talk well and seemed “out of it” was because she had put Orajel on his tongue (she said that she noticed sores on it and it was swollen).
