		My other problems with DDLJ are that Raj is so obnoxious/immature/annoying/mean in the first half, and that there is a meaningless fight at the end. For me, this movie gets a 7/10 -- very average, and definitely overrated.
		I did like the conversation between Simran and her mom about not letting the daughter have the same lack of opportunities the mother had though. Also, The mutual fasting for Karva Chauth was admirable. And some of the songs are memorable too.
		After all, the most common theory of why DDLJ is the hit it is because it rededicates itself to 'Indian-ess' for the NRI crowd (and presumably the domestic audiences as well) and to the notion of some societal values greater than that of simple personal gratification.
