Dimitsana (Greek: Δημητσάνα) is a village and a municipality located in northwestern Arcadia.
It is built on the ruins of the ancient town Teuthis.
Until the 1960s, much of the town did not have electricity and until the 1980s, most of the houses were stone-built.

Dimitsanas` library owns rare editions (20000 volumes that were saved amongst many others that were destroyed during the revolution for the needs of the war), condexes and a rich historic record.
Dimitsanas` sights are the six gunpowder mills around the city, the houses of Patriarch Grigoriou the Fifth and Paleon Patron Germanou, the excellent fountain of Mustafa and the Kefalari of Saint Yianni.
Byzantine “Monastery of Filosofou” is situated west of Dimitsana, on a riverbank inside a magnificent ravine.

Zygovisti or Zigovisti (Greek, Modern: Ζυγοβίστι, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on), older form Zigovistion, is a village that is located 6 km SSE of Dimitsana and 2 km from the Karytaina - Dimitsana Road in the municipality of Dimitsana and in the western part of the prefecture of Arcadia.
It is located about 6 km NE of Stemnitsa, S of Lagkadia and S of GR-74, about 40 km NW of Tripoli, about 21 km NE of Karytaina, about 46 km N of Megalopoli and GR-7/E65 and about 45 km NE of Andritsaina.
Until the pavement of the road and the one linking Karytaina and Dimitsana in the mid-20th century, the village didn't had paved roads or electricity.

Dimitsana is another mountain top town, which sits at the top of two hills (2789 feet) at the beginning of the Lousios Gorge.
There are plenty of trails to go hiking around the area, but it was too rainy.
Sunday morning we confirmed that the bus doesn't come to Dimitsana on the weekends either.

On a site with an area of 1,000 square metres, the buildings of a water-mill (also housing a fulling-tub), a tannery (with the tanner's house) and a powder mill have been reconstructed, and the permanent equipment of those installations has been restored to its original form and functions.
