		As the film opens, we witness the long journey of a large egg as it is picked from its mother's nest and transported to a far away island.
		Dinosaur is the first case where this is not the case.

		'Dinosaur' continues to surprise in the audio department, with an uncompressed, 48kHz/24-bit PCM 5.1 surround track that also failed to wow me. It's a perfectly fine mix to be sure, but given that this is a launch title for a next-gen format, I wanted more out of this one.
		Surround use is also restrained -- time and again in the film, during a sequence that should sound awe-inspiring and all-enveloping (such as the dinosaur attacks, or the nighttime rainstorm of comets), the rear channels hardly emit any activity.
		Though 'Dinosaur' came loaded with extras when it was issued as a two-disc Limited Edition DVD, Blu-ray disc storage limitations mean that most of those goodies have been nixed for the film's inaugural high-def release.

		The story itself just featured a gentleman and his lady being accosted by dinosaurs in a barren and rocky landscape, culminating in a battle between a brontosaur and t-rex, and the straw hut the people were hiding in being cast off a cliff.

The basic message of kindness and teamwork is there, just like it is in just about every Disney film since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but once you get beyond that, the movie's moral scope is as barren as the post-disaster Earth it depicts.
