Diorama - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A diorama is a partially three dimensional model of a landscape typically showing historical events, nature scenes, cityscapes, etc. for purposes of education or entertainment.
More typical are the dioramas used to present mounted ("stuffed") animals, birds, and simulated plants to form a realistic representation of the animals where they are found in nature.
Miniature dioramas are used to represent scenes from historic events (e.g., tin soldiers arranged in a display depicting a famous battle).

Diorama (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Diorama is the fourth album by the Australian band Silverchair, released in 2002.
Although Silverchair were known as a post-grunge band, by this time in their career, their music had progressed so much, that it became largely unrecognizable as work of the same adolescent post-grunge band that burst onto the international music scene in 1995.
Throughout the album can be heard time signatures other than 4/4, a throwback to Silverchair's earlier work and that of contemporaries Soundgarden.

 Diorama: triple j music reviews
Diorama is a fantastic epic score that flows on from silverchair's previous releases with no bad tracks making it onto the album.
This album has better synchronisity between instruments, cleaner and more emotive riffs, a headspace that is very much their own and far removed from their starting point and vocals that sound like a very warped dreamworld taking you on a journey without being egotistical.
Diorama has elements of a grandscale broadway musical, essential silverchair components and a whole lotta melodies that make listening to it feel the same as some really fun fast ride you enjoyed as a kid.

Now, Diorama, the band’s fourth record, is out and it shows how they have matured.
Diorama kicks off with the strange and almost funky “Across The Night” with its strange music and even weirder vocal melodies.
Overall, Diorama is a good album, although it is a little jumbled and a bit too hasty in trimming off the grunge sound.

Despite the fact that they've now released three albums since their debut smash, the prepubescent grunge-fest Frogstomp, the band still can't seem to escape the stigma of being called a "teen band" every time their name is mentioned in print.
Here we go: Silverchair's newest album, Diorama, is such a huge departure from anything you'd expect from the band, it's almost startling at first.
And if there's any one thing that could potentially bring this album down, it's a perceived lack of continuity, that the album is nothing more than a strung-together compilation of songs from different recording periods.

And while Diorama -- a high-minded collection of progressive-pop songwriting wrapped in earthquake rock and extravagant orchestrations, including three arrangements by Van Dyke Parks -- became Silverchair's crowning triumph in Australia (best-ever sales, four trophies at the Aussie version of the Grammys), the album stiffed in America.
