After Mask (1984) and Invisible Connections (1985) there was a brief pause of album work, during which Vangelis moved his creative base from London to Greece, and was involved in theatre work.
The album sleeve mentions that Vangelis called the album "Direct" to reflect his way of composing.
According to the sleeve, Direct was to be the first of a series of albums along the same concepts.

Along with its various remixes sprinkled throughout the soundtrack, this song is my absolute favourite song on the entire album; the FMV (and the song that it played during it) really got my attention and got me playing R4 in the first place.
Despite their lack of a really techno-type feel, they are very upbeat, and i can't recall ever becoming annoyed with these songs, even after hanging around in the game menus for hours on end.
This album is one of the few albums i think sound great with bass up high.

You can feel the direction in which Vangelis wants to go, progressing somewhat away from his patented "Chariots of Fire" sound that inhabits so much of Vangelis's work in the 70's and the 80's.
"Direct" sits right on the cusp between the second and third decade of Vangelis's reign as the premiere mainstream composer of symphonic electronic music.
All in all, "Direct" is a must-have for Vangelis connoisseurs such as myself.

 George album news
I have seen zero television ads for the album, and though there are 3 PBS stations in the area, I've never seen either the edit of the promo DVD aired on any of them, nor have I heard the promo-only 'Stuck Inside A Cloud' on the radio at all.
Albums tend to debut higher and then fall sharply (I hope Brainwashed hangs in there during the holidays, at least).
I also am miffed that Capitol/Paul released the live album and DVD the week of the annivesary of George's death; it would have been appropriate (and better sales-wise) to have released "Brainwashed" on Nov. 26, the week of the anniversary, and pushed McCartney to Dec. 3.

This album is, in my eyes, an achievement of monumental greatness in the realm of Death Metal.
I personally equate such an album with "Master Of Puppets", "Slaughter Of The Soul", "Rust In Peace", or "The Jester Race" in terms of it's impact on the Metal-movement.
DEATH has never equalled this album, though they have come close, the closest being the next album "Individual Thought Patterns", and "Symbolic" was almost better in some ways (production being one of them, after which they went downhill with "The Sound Of Perseverance" in my opinion), but "Human" is the pinnacle for the band.

Revenues generated by direct downloads will be identical regardless of the territory in which the user resides, because the retail price is determined by the U.S. record company/distributor, as opposed to its ex-U.S. licensee.
Similarly, with respect to direct mail distribution based on Internet purchases, it must be presumed that shipping costs will be paid directly by the consumer, in addition to the retail price, so that no economic distinction can be drawn between sales to U.S. and foreign consumers.
The mechanical cap generally specifies that the maximum mechanical royalties payable for all compositions (including controlled compositions) on a single album shall be no more than X times the controlled (or sometimes, non-controlled) rate (where X is usually a number between ten and thirteen, depending on the stature of the artist).

 Tori Amos Album Reviews
In retrospect, this is by far her most conventional album, being a warm, incredibly intimate singer-songwriter collection that consists primarily of slow piano ballads.
Although most of the album features Tori and her warm, classical piano, the album is also richly fleshed out with more instrumentation, with haunting harpsichords being particularly prominent.
Lyrically, Tori remains rather obtuse, but the album offers more moments of clarity, with lines like “but she couldn’t keep baby alive” (about her recent miscarriage) and “you’ve got to know when it’s time to turn the page” being both moving and easy to relate to.
