Its successor, the Clean Diamond Trade Act, introduced by a bipartisan group of lawmakers, calls for a ban to be imposed on all diamonds from countries not co-operating with an international certification process currently being negotiated by 38 diamond-producing nations.

When the only benefit of a good diamond is increased light return (when clean) then don’t purchase a good quality diamond if the diamond can’t be properly maintained.
