 | | The discontinuity is global, in the sense that it is found in every region of the world for which it has been searched. |
 | | There is a slight hint of a correlation between the height of the discontinuity, disfavoring the discontinuity as the top of a chemical boundary layer that is swept beneath hot regions of upwelling, though the correlation is not significant. |
 | | It may be required that all of the different observations of the CMB region, involving discontinuities, ULVZs, anisotropy, lateral heterogeneities, scattering, and differing Vs/Vp ratios, must be examined and interpreted in concert before the geodynamics of this region is understood. |
