On around the 10th occasion of entering the Stone Circle, instead of arriving in the Elven Kingdom, you'll find yourself in Rincewind's bedroom from the beginning of the first Discworld game, where you'll meet the old version of Rincewind.

The cartoonish graphics in Discworld II are consistent with the zany gameplay and comedic dialogue.
In addition to the usual cartoon-like booms, bonks, and whistles, Discworld II includes the vocal talents of Eric Idle (of Monty Python fame) reprising his role from the original Discworld game as the voice for the cynical (and cowardly) Rincewind.
With enhanced graphics, a humorous storyline and a similar style of gameplay, Discworld II: Mortality Bytes is a must-have for fans of the original.

The first Discworld, based on Terry Pratchett's humorous book series, was as zany as the novels, and a tough adventure besides.
Discworld II comes with text subtitles you can turn on (with or without sound), so you won't miss much.
Overall though, Discworld II was a treat to play: funny, clever, clean-running, and a good mental workout.

Rincewind, as those of you who have played the first Discworld game will know, is a thoroughly likeable, though not overly competent, apprentice wizard.
As with the first game, Discworld II is divided into four Acts and the first three are very long and quite complex.
Discworld II is packed onto two CDs and installs to either Windows 95 (recommended in the manual) or DOS.

There is a well-known theory that there are only seven stories known to man. The Elves of Discworld have discovered an eighth – a story of awesome power – which they play out on Roundworld (Earth) in their attempt to defeat the Witches of Discworld.
One problem may have been that it is a return to the Wizard characters of the early discworld books, who have faded in favor of Sam Vines and other characters.
Pratchett's Discworld characters muddle their usual way through a story that offsets the points that Stewart and Cohen make in the 'Hard Science' chapters.

In the Discworld strand, the bickering Unseen University wizards revisit their accidental creation Roundworld--that astonishing place where there's no magic.
Meanwhile the Discworld chapters--though sometimes disappointingly short--are fast and funny, climaxing with much unscripted action at the first night of a famous play.
The Science of Discworld II is ultimately entertaining and genuinely thought-provoking, as expected from this team.

Discworld II is a classic Point-and-click game with a nice use of Cartoon like graphics, you can converse with the other characters and can manipulate objects on the screen.
It has been sourced from a couple of the Discworld books, "Mort" and "Pyramids" to name a couple but still has a good bit of originality slapped in there too.For all Discworld fans I think it's a must and at low low prices like £12 in the Game shops it well worth it.
And if you're wondering if it's like Discworld I well in a word no, although yes in some ways it has definitely moved on in the old graphics but the basic concept is still the same.

The impact of narrative imperative, our own version of the Discworld's 'narrativium' and the way that people tend to use stories to explain their world, is also considered.
In ‘The Science Of Discworld’, Pratchett, Stewart and Cohen denied the existence of 'narrativium' on Earth or Roundworld as the wizard's called it.
