		Radio Disney decided it was no longer profitable to operate in Florida so they moved all of their shows from the Disney-MGM Studios to the Radio Disney headquarters in Dallas, Texas and the once bustling Disney Studios Florida soundstages now sit vacant and unused.
		MGM has never allowed Disney to use the name in publicity material, but many signs around the park are already heralding the park as the Walt Disney Studios.
		Disney-MGM Studios has a sister park at the Disneyland Resort Paris called the Walt Disney Studios Park.

		The Disney MGM Studios, which opened in 1989, has been transformed into the Gateway to the 100 Years of Magic Celebration, the centerpiece of which is a huge 120-foot Sorcerer Mickey hat, built at the very end of the entry plaza, outside the Great Movie Ride attraction.

		Although most people realize that the studios is oriented more towards teens and adults than young children, it's worth a reminder than young children may be restricted from some attractions due to height and age requirements and that some of the studios' attractions are very intense.
		Toward the end of the tour a Disney animator is available to demonstrate the drawing of a character and to field questions.

		The MGM name was tacked on when the park opened, because Disney didn't feel that they had a big movie base(besides cartoons) to pull people in when Universal Studios was going to open.
		Some people in the Disney company told me that the basic reason they chose MGM was because...well, the other major studios were taken at the time, with tie-ins to other parks (Paramont, for example, had King's Dominion, and Universal...well, we KNOW the tie-in for Universal).
